Fall is upon us

Labor Day has passed and school has begun again (albeit in an atypical format). The evenings are cooler and it’s not long until the leaves begin to change color and fall from the trees.

Inevitably this is when my thoughts turn to hats - both wearing and knitting them. I have many hats that I have knit for myself over the years, but I always feel compelled to make a new one when September and October roll around.

If you’re like me and love a new hat, perhaps one of my hat patterns will tickle your fancy.

The first pattern I published was my Jalapeno Hat pattern - a simple knit-purl hat knit with two strands of fingering weight yarn held together. It’s available in two sizes. I’ve knit several of these to give as gifts, including a baby size one! [baby size pattern to be released later this year ;)]

if you’re looking to try out knitting cables in the round, my Sorbet Slouch pattern features one large tapered cable - and is topped off with a pom pom! Have fun with your pom - it can be a purchase puffball or a made pom. You can add anything into your made pom - sparkle or even Stellina fibers. There’s not limit to the options! it takes about 200 yards of a DK yarn.

My Afternoon Tea hat pattern offers a more tangy knitting experience, knit in Aran weight with all over cabled motifs. The heavier weight yarn makes for a supremely warm and cozy hat, perfect for the deep Winter months.
