I saw these skeins of Silk Tweed from La Bien Aimee when I was at Forever Yarn two weeks ago. The box had just arrived from France; Yan was still unpacking them.
I saw them and knew they were coming home with me. The feel of the silk noil and vibrancy of the colors immediately said “Summer shawl” to me. So I bought them and wound them the next day.
I cast on an idea and knit it up a bit. about 15 inches along I decided it wasn’t quite the relaxed beach knitting project I had in mind. So I frogged it, made some notes, and then swatched my edited ideas.
Six mini swatches later I am pleased with the direction. I’ve written the pattern and now just need to knit it up. It feels right. Sometimes that’s how you know the project will be successful - you can just feel it. I get happy Summer knitting vibes from my last little swatch. I can’t wait to show you what it becomes.
