I snagged these La Bien Aimee pretties at Forever Yarn in Doylestown recently. I was looking for some bright, cheerful colors for a new shawl design. Yan had just what I needed.
One of the things I missed during the crushing dark of the pandemic was going to my LYS, looking at all the new beauties, talking with others about colors choices and ideas. The distance from the community that had been so close before the COVID times began was simply awful.
So much joy and inspiration comes from being with friends, being together, seeing the yarn in all it’s glory!
Anyway, the shawl is coming along nicely. The pattern draft is finished, the knitting of the shawl nearly so. It’s the second take; there was an earlier prototype. I liked the design, but it was too small. I wanted a larger piece so these yarns will be that finished object.
Then of course it’s on to pattern review, tech edit, photo shoot…all those things that seem like “just a little bit to do” but in reality take hours over several weeks to finish up.
Are you like me? Do you feel like you have to knit bright, poppy colors when the weather warms up and all the flowers and trees start to bloom?
