Like many of you, I have a knitting bucket list. Next week I’ll check off one of the top spots on that list when I finally make it to VK Live NYC. I’ll get to check at least one other off the list next week - and who knows? Maybe another one or two…
Here’s the bucket list as of January 2019:
Rhinebeck (I am determined to make it this year)
VK Live NYC - almost there!!!
Publish a pattern in Knitty
Meet the Yarn Harlot (waiting for the next book tour; fingers crossed…)
Meet Stephen West (this is happening in a few weeks)
Take a class with Romi Hill (this is happening at Vogue. I’m a lace knitter and love her work)
Publish a “Hot Right Now” pattern to Ravelry
Knit in Ireland
Knit in Paris (fini!)
MD Sheep and Wool (check, check, and check)
Attend a Strung Along Retreat
Go to La Bien Aimee (check. also went to L’oisive the where I drank tea, ate cake, knit, and bought yarn. quadrafecta right there.)
Meet Debbie Bliss (seems a lot harder since she left her store)
DFW Fiber Fest
Go to Loop London
The list is fluid of course; positions change and sometimes what’s on it changes too. Squam was high on the list for a long time and I’ve since taken it off the list completely. It just seems impossible to ever make happen; there are very few spots and it seems you have to have already gone to get one. C’est la vie.
VK Live on the other hand? I’m so there. Bunking with a good knit friend and I’ll see many others from my local knit community while there - like the lovely Yan and folks from Forever Yarn.
What’s on your bucket list?
Spring.
